I’m Scarlett Doctor, cello teacher and cellist. I have been giving cello lessons for over 20 years and I have been selling beautiful old and new cello’s in many sizes for over 10 years. When you make a appointment to try cello’s I know what I’m going to prepare for you, by talking to you. I will help you. Many teachers refer to me, that recognition is super!
There is a lot of circulation in the studio; most cellos are not photographed and do not come online because I know who is looking for such a cello. By giving me a search you have the best chance of finding your cello and you have priority.
I have the largest selection of old and new 7/8th cello’s. These slightly smaller cello’s are ideal for not too big cellists or those who start at a later age. I also play on a small whole cello, so really an option for adult cellists.

Do you play from the books by Jakob Sakom and Rick Mooney? Many teachers work with this. I have put all Sakom bundles and Position Pieces on video. Both the melody line and the accompanying voice, with a professional videographer and professional sound equipment. The editor has placed the sheet music at the bottom of the video, pre-mounted a ‘tap’ and by means of the cogwheel in the screen you can make the music play slower and faster while the pitch remains the same.

- There is no ‘threshold’ with me, I am here to help you. This is possible in Amsterdam or after our move in November 2022 in Velp near Arnhem, Gelderland.
- Based on your playing and instrument, I advise you on the best string set for the cello of your choice. Strings not only determine the sound, but one brand of string is easier to pick up than another. I hear what you need.
- I am one of the few that offers so many beautiful old affordable cellos. I invest a lot of time and miles in that.
