At the end of the weekend the cellow weekend 2019 had started. What a beautiful weekend. It was great to be able to work with cellists from all over the country and even a cellist from Luxembourg for a weekend. With cello works from Bach via Dvorak to Irish traditionals we tasted all styles and ended with a tutti (all) work; The Second Waltz by Shostakovitch. That went really super!

Here are some reactions from the participants;

‘Thanks again for a great weekend!’

‘Learned so much and formed my first ensemble!’

‘I’m excited about the cellowing weekend!’

That’s where we’re doing it for ?.

I’m adding some photos taken by photographer Erik Bolding.

Some participants were curious what I did besides teaching cello and looking for beautiful old and new ones. What I prefer to do outside these activities is playing with The String Quartet. With The String Quartet I play with my fine colleagues Julia, Anita and Laura. We like to play at weddings, parties, give tailor-made concerts or even play in Het Concertgebouw, as many of you know. We distinguish ourselves by our repertoire; we take around 900 titles with us on our tablets and our contemporary repertoire is enormous; from Elvis to Coldplay; incredibly fun to play and the string quartet makes it sound classical after all.

Look at www.hetstrijkkwartet.nl who we are and what we do. To sketch you some assignments of the coming weeks;

  • Tuesday we play for the Bankgiro Lottery.
  • Friday in Oostum.
  • Saturday a string trio will go to Aalst, Belgium and in the evening we will play with the String Quartet in gala dresses for a private party in Het Concertgebouw.
  • monthly for the first time in the No hero Museum in Delden for a closed group.

The bookings where there is carpooling remain the nicest, so you talk to each other wonderfully.

Here are some clips from us Youtube channel HetStrijkkwartet ;

Can’t help falling in love, Elvis

All about that bass, Meghan Trainor

Now I’m going to move on quickly and unpack my cello, because I have to prepare for a Schubert quintet booking for individuals; will you unpack your cello too?
