The digital celloles agenda is now open until July. Green days are no class days, orange days are still available and red is full.
Koen’s lessons
Koen’s first month on two Tuesday afternoons is over: nice that there were immediately three or more bidders, that’s what we do it for! Koen is going to place his times, at your request, a little later in the afternoon/evening. Does it suit you to take cello lessons at the end of Tuesday afternoon or early in the evening? The schedule is open, plan ahead.
Workshop ‘Guiding with the cello’
What fun it was to give the workshop “Accompanying the cello” at the beginning of April. Also a bit exciting, because I’ve never discussed this subject before.
Weather new faces, very nice!
After asking around I understood that everyone had been helped further and got answers to the questions he or she had hoped for, I am happy with that. Thanks for this nice and instructive evening!
Coral evening
The coral evening on 18 April was also very successful. To our surprise Judas, a cellist who played the bass solo, sang and played the ‘Gebt mir meinen Jesum wieder Do-Able‘. So incredibly handsome that he did it at the same time, to our delight. It was incredibly beautiful and he has to do something with it if you ask me.
Next year again with other corals and I already found the right arrangement of ‘Machet mir mein Herze rein‘, for five cellos. We’ll include those. I’m already looking forward to it!

Play day
On to the next activity. On the 1st of June there will be a game day for everyone who wants to play together once or again. For everyone who ignores the cello festival in Dordrecht: just join us!
There are two levels, beginners and non-beginners. We are looking for two more beginners and two more advanced cellists. Are you one of them? Join us! Bring your cello buddy…
Participation is € 75,00 and that includes a nice lunch with delicious sandwiches and salads when I see the website of the caterer like this.
The parking fee has been increased as of April 1st throughout Amsterdam. Parking on the Haparandaweg costs € 6.00 per hour. I am allowed to rent a number of parking permits before 1 June, a € 10.00 per day. These offer parking facilities on the Hemweg grounds. A business park in the Houthavens, 400 meters from my studio. In beautiful Havelte, Drenthe, a maximum of 24 cellists work with Ellis Moorman and me in three groups of 8 cellists on beautiful pieces of early music to the present day. New Larsen strings
A new type of Larsen string in the studio. I know, they’ve had these Larsen Magnacore Arioso strings since 2016. They are only made in/for the A and the D. They have a slightly lighter tension than we are used to from the usual Larsen Magnacore, which according to the manufacturer gives them a slightly fuller sound and is very easy to appeal to. Larsen says about these new strings:

Well, we’re gonna try that! Because Ellen and Esther complained about a sharp A string I thought, I’m going to order four of A and the D. Samantha placed them first and I’m curious about her reaction.
