CELLOWEEKEND 2019 on 17 and 18 August!
Best cellists! Because last year several cellists had planned their vacation before the dates of the Celloweekend were known; so here are the dates for the Celloweekend next year! Now we are really on time, aren’t we?
Saturday and Sunday 17 and 18 August 2019 is the next Celloweekend in Havelte, Drenthe. I’m already looking forward to it and sniffing at pieces.
On Saturday, August 17th, the door is open from 10.00 and at 10.30 we start playing together. We have lunch together and at 18.00 we eat, whether or not your guests join us. On Sunday the coffee is brown from 9.30 and we start at 10.00. Around 16.30 we end with a drink and chat after.
After responding to our mini-question to the participants of 2018, we have also adjusted a few things immediately. Like more music to treat, longer sessions unless there is a Tropical roster. Last but not least: again a maximum of 24 participants, but now divided over 3 groups and rooms so that cellists can hear themselves even better. And we you too! We, that’s Ellis Moorman and me, because this was so much fun; we are going to do this together again! You can already sign up by sending an email.
The pieces of music that we treat will be sent to the participants about 2 to 3 months in advance, with all the notes that are known until then.
We work in three rooms. The hall at the entrance, the large room and the smaller room, where also in front of a second window a mosquito net is placed for blowing through (we really listened to all your wishes). So there is always a group working independently for a couple of hours while Ellis and I help another group on their way.
In sunny weather, the cowshed, which is empty from April onwards, remains a good option to sit cool and spacious. The groups rotate and come once in all areas where work is done.
All groups work with both Ellis and Scarlett.
In addition to playing together, there’s also time for trouble-shooting; a question you have about cello playing, technically or musically; Ellis and I will help you where we can.
One detail; our dear old tolerant dog Teun walks around. Of course your comfort comes first but we can’t lock Teun up. Teun is kept away in the rooms where the cello’s are, no matter how unfortunate he is because he always lies with the cello lessons I give in Havelte. He groans of relaxation. Top!
The costs for the Celloblog weekend will be € 180,00 per person for those who receive this Celloblog mail in their mailbox. Cellists who are not (yet) subscribed to the Blog post will pay a contribution of € 199,00. This includes two lunches and dinner on Saturday. Do you want to join us? If you already register, you can still be sure of a spot. Great regards and goodbye! Ellis Moorman & Scarlett Arts!
